dieed like someone turned off key
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 13-Oct-02 AT 09:23 PM (EST)]Check all the fuses, under the kick panel and under the hood too. If you are running a chip, pull it and see if that helps. Try cleaning the contacts for the CPS or replace it.

You might check the fuel pump relay (if you have the engine with the fuel pump in the valley you won't have a fuel pump relay but you may have an ECM relay). Also, it could be the cam position sensor (as far as I know there is no way to check that -- you just have to try a new one) Sometimes the ECM will generate a failure code for the cam position sensor and sometimes not. Those are my suggestions.

I had a 96 7.3 that did something similar. It would just stop running like the key was turned off, but if you actually turned the key off and on again, it would start and run. For awhile, then it would do it again, maybe in 30 seconds or in 2 days, whatever it felt like. It turned out to be the crank angle sensor, but I changed the cam sensor at the same time also.
