Has anyone found a company who is making 6.8 cams?Everyone i call or e-mail is not, bummer. Here is a video of a 4.6 w/Comp cams, this is how i want my truck to idle. http://www.eastcoaststang.com/nitrolew.mpg.
That thing sounds awesome! My project has been put on hold for a few months (the wife says I gotta finish the home theater project before I work on the truck again), but my plan was to work with Comp Cams and get a regrind. I wonder if the profile(s) they're using for the 4.6 would work... I was going to port and polish the heads, then put them on a flow bench, find valve opening at max flow, yada yada yada and use those numbers to come up with a profile. Anyway Comp Cams will do this for comparatively little. They did tell me that if enough people showed an interest, they would start grinding cams for the 6.8.
I was going to say the same thing, comp cams will custom grind a cam for you. They will be limited by the cores available (which I believe is only stock Ford). I stopped thinking about doing it when I saw the whipple twin screw supercharger ooh, but think of a whipple sc, custom ground cam and custom diablo chip excuse me while I go smash the kids piggybanks...
Comp Cams told me that they didn't have blanks - I had to send mine in to them. Did they tell you that they can get blanks from Ford? If so, that would open up some new possibilities for me.

They didnt tell me they could get blanks from Ford, I was just reading thier docs on custom cam grinding. It said thier only limitation is which cores are available and made note that there are many blanks available for a chevy 350 with varying lobe locations to grind against but for motors that are not commonly built up they are stuck with whats available. I just interpereted that as only blanks from ford would be available as they are the only ones who make cams for the v10 (that I know of).
I just got an email from comp cams saying they dont have any cams for the 6.8, and he could not say for sure if they were going to build any.But he said keep checking back.
whipple chargers come with thier own interface cpu. they offer a custom chip for hp and tourqe but not for the v10.they say never alter the stock program or may cause serios damage. im hearing cooler plugs, 8mm wires and quality headers and exhaust (borla) and its good to go. i asked about upgrading the throttle body and whipple suggest to leave it stock.with these mods im looking at 50% more hp which could bring it to 460hp. done deal
taylor 8mm plug wires. high temp and high performance wires. eliminates radio frequency interference (rfi) which can interfere with computer, ignition, etc. recommended for sc

The v10 is a coil on plug ignition system, the coil sits directly on the plug, their are no plug wires. What configuration are you looking at that would require wires?
