Arrow 30, 40, 50 Series Flowmasters vs. Magnaflow round

Well, this is a question about my Ford Ranger...yes, I'm still searching for an exhaust.

My question is which of those series of Flowmaster would you put on a Ranger with a 4.0 and a stick shift?

The 40 is the loudest, then the 50, then the 30. But, it says the 30 is louder on the inside than the 50 but the 50 is louder on the outside???

If one of those series in the Delta Flow is my best bet then tell me. Now to the Magnaflow. There really isn't much to say here but its the round stainless one!

What are you looking for in an exhaust. I have a magnaflow muffler that is very quite, just a tad louder than stock. I'm looking into getting flowmaster Super 40 and sell my magnaflow.

I am looking for an exhaust that has a really deep sound. I don't want a ricey sound or something thats really tinny (not tiny) sounding. I need to hear an exhaust clip of a Ranger with the 4.0 and a Flowmaster or Magnaflow.

Did you get an oval Magnaflow or a Round?

If all that you are looking for is noise than have you considered getting a "Cherry Bomb"to replace your existing muffler I am considering an oval magnaflow for my truck soon but if you just want loud consider the "red cherry bomb" at the canadian tire stores....

Mine is round. If you want a deep sound get either the Original 40 or the Super 40.

I've got the original 40 and I'm pretty happy with it, pretty quiet in the cab and a rather deep sound outside for a V6 especially lugging it just a bit at like 3K rpm. See thread: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...d.php?t=223266

First ting of all. I don't want any glasspack loudass noisemakers. I want a good low tone or a really deep sound. I know what Flowmaster 40s sound like because I have them on my 77 Explorer...but thats a 460 V8. I just need to know if I should get another Flowmaster and be mad because of the drone or get a Magnaflow and not like the sound there either. But, I have heard these are the TWO BEST mufflers I can put on my Ranger.

Well, if I get a Flowmaster I'm gonna put a turndown on it before the back axle.

If I get the Magnaflow should I run a Y-pipe and dual stainless tips exiting under the bumper or just keep a single and have it exit after my rear tire on passenger side with a shorter (8") stainless tip?

Well, I will probably just go with the Magnaflow and a single pipe with a nice stainless tip. Costs less, and looks good to boot.

Does anybody know why there is TWO cat converters on this damn thing? Is the 2nd one ever doing anything?

From what I've heard is that the last 2 cats are hi flow. Also if you are interested I will be selling my muffler as soon as I get my Super 40 in.

1999 3.0 FLowmaster 30

The 30's are louder than 40's but w/ a different tone

im very extremely unbelievably happy w/ my muffler there isn't the slightest bit of rice no rice at all im talkin no no no rice at all
at idle it has the tone of a small block v-8
i dont have a tach so i cant give yuh rpms
but when accelerating lightly it gets a real deep loud tone
