speedo calibration
I pick up my 04 f350 6.0 6 speed cc lb lariat srw wednesday. one of the first mods i will do is a 4" lift and 315/75-16 tires. the truck comes with 3.73's, and 265/75-16 tires and with my calculations 4.10's will put the final drive very close to the stock #'s. My ? is....will I need to install a "truespeed" to get the speedo correct or since the final drive is very close to the same will the stock computer adjust to the slight difference? Thanks in advance for your help!

I put BFG 295s on my 1999 F-250, replacing the General 235s that came with the truck, at about 90,000 miles. The speedometer was incorrect by about 7% (measurements per GPS) but the computer doesn't seem to care. Everything works fine - I get stuck in the mud less, the tires have that awesome look, and I enjoy about 10% better fuel mileage!
OK, so I have to downshift a little more often when needing to quickly excelerate to pass, but I don't mind - if I did, I wouldn't have bought a manual transmission.
