2000 Triton V10. No filters etc in Oz.

Hi folks from Australia. I recently purchased a Motorhome here in Australia. It is built on a Ford Explorer Motorhome chassis and has a Triton V10 2000 model. My problem is that i cant find anyone here, including Ford that can supply the filters etc needed to complete the 30,000 mile service. Just wondering if any of you know a good supplier in the USA that I could contact for the necessary bits I will need for services. I guess sending via UPS would work as we have them here.

Thanks for any info you can supply,

Regards, Mark Dunn.

Hm you may want to try K&Ns homepage, or even auto zones home page and see about ordering parts....or if you have some contacts over here have them buy it and ship it and you jsut repay them?

and congrats on the buy

EDIT: And WELCOME to FTE!!

What filters do you need?

Are you serious that your local Ford dealer doesn't have filters??

I need all the filters for a 30,000 mile service. I have managed to track down the original dealer who imported the chassis and it would appear that they have all the parts etc that i need so i will contact them tomorrow. Thanks for the replies and ideas.
Yes the local Ford dealers had no idea. Most responses where ... Triton V10, whats that? There are only 24 V10s in this country that i know of but many more should start appearing as your F Trucks are now starting to flow into Australia.

Mark,

They use the same oil, air & fuel filters as the 5.4L V8.

Do you have those??

I was going to say something along the lines of the 4.6L/5.4L in any vehicle, being the oil filter would be the same, at least. The V10 calls for a FL-820S, notice the S is for Silicone anti-drainback valve. My '96 and '97 4.6L's only call for the FL-820...

Now, what I'm trying to say is, get a 4.6L oil filter, but make sure it has the silicone anti-drainback valve, like a Fram (oh no!) XG2, Mobil 1, or some other aftermarket brands.

Your problem is most likely that the parts are available, but no one in Oz has a listing in their books for the V10.

As to shipping them from the US, find a nice person that will buy a filter at an auto-parts store, stick it in a US Postal Service box and send it to you PERSONALLY, person-to-person so to speak. I won't go into why

As for going to Ford, I'm sure someone here can supply the part numbers for the rest of the pieces, and they should be able to get them (eventually). But that would help in the aftermarket, because most parts books have OEM cross-overs in the back.

One other note to everyone, in other countries things can be different, like the air intake and gas supply lines because of local gov't regulations. Knowing Ford, they standardized everything across the board so that it would be the same and meet all guidelines, but you never know. 2 decages ago, Ford was known for exactly the opposite

Excellent point and one that I obviously missed!

Thanks for the replies guys, all is well as i found the ford dealership that imported the motorhome chassis for Winnebago here. They had all the part numbers and found that the parts were in stock in Australia, if not all in the same place. The only part they didnt have a number for was the oil filter and i had one of those so I was able to supply that to them. My service is now booked for the 16th of this month
Regards, Mark

I got mine from Jackson Ford in Launceston, Tasmania. Theyre the same as the new Falcon V8s take. They have the valve in the filter to prevent draining. Good luck.

Here is the Air Filter part number F50Z-9601-BA. You should be able to get that from your local Ford dealer or at least they can get it in from someone else in Australia. I have just given all the part numbers to the ford truck service guys in Brisbane. Hope this helps, sorry if this took a while but have been away for easter.
