This sounds like something that comes up every once in a while in the 73-79 forum. The mystery of the 8 lug F-150. Someone in that forum had one of those 8 lug trucks and the VIN didnt make any sense. He claimed that the body wasnt swaped and it was all original. Who knows what goes on at the factories. I think some times they just throw together a bunch of extra parts and see what they come up with.

My Sis' Hubby set me straight. that truck was indeed 7 lug. but was the 99 F250 LD.
Mine is an 03 F150 7700 7 lug as well.

Don`t always take what is listed on part store computers for fact.I have never seen an 8 lug 7700 or LD and I have seen a 2wd 7700 and LD.The only 8 lug LD I have seen are 80-96 F250 LD ,I have an 89 F250 LD 8 lug 6700# GVW.Of course in 80 -96 there was only 1 body style.

I have continued this search over the last couple of years. What I have recently found is the OEM Ford part numbers for the 8-lug rotors, which are as follows:

YC3Z 1V102 AA
YC3J 2C501 AA

BRR20 - Motorcraft P/N

Kerry,
Can you continue to use the sources available to you regarding the OEM production of these part numbers on 2WD F150 7700?

Maybe we can prove the existance of the "F250 LD/F150 7700 bigfoot".

Agreed! I have gone to Advance Auto to order a wheel bearing for a Toyota...only to come back with a wheel bearing for a 1-ton Chevy.

If it has 8 lugs, it's not a '97-'03/'04 F150/250LD (not factory anyways...)

Part of the confusion comes from FORD's '7 lug' hub cap designs.

First time I became aware of this I thought I was looking at a 250, but the cap covered a regular 5 lug wheel.
