Issues anyone? Will this be wise and effective on a 2002 PSD?

Also, can I put back the Factory original program with it?

This is the one from Superchips. Diablo is going to be releasing their Delta chip (already on order) which has its advantages too. Will its not at plug and play as the Microtuner, you can change programs on the fly (the one drawback to the Microtuner). Both are good products.

Yes, it will work well with a 2002. It will allow you to restore the factory program at any time (it stores a copy of the factory program in itself).

OK, I ordered one. Hope I don't get taken :-)

I'll be towing a trailer with it so I plan to use the lower setting.

How important is it to have an EGT gauge and where do you put one? With the 2002 I have an intercooler (so I'm told) does that not help keep the turbo cool when using the tuners?

What else should I watch out for?

Just thought of another question, actually a guy is reading over my shoulder. Can I program two different trucks with this, or would it nuke my factory config if I tuned another truck etc...?

The 60 HP program has no EGT concerns. With the 80 you should NEVER tow over 4000 lbs unless you have a gauge and an exhaust system.

Sorry, they thought of everything. Once you plug it into your truck, its mated to your computer.

Just bought a new Ford F250 Powerstroke and all I hear
is that I need a Performance chip. Do they make that much
difference and does programming yourself with the Microtuner
produce the same results as a pre-programmed chip?

They make a BIG difference but they are not for everyone. Many people are happy with stock trucks. The Microtuner provides the same results as a chip but you get two programs for the price of one plus instead of taking 20-40 minutes to install it takes less than 2 minutes. Add to that the fact that you don't even need to know your ECU code and its a dream to install.

All good points... but I'm thinking about it this way... if Ford get's into a contest to see who can pee higher on the wall... I can simply put back the factory code and there's no evidence I've been there :-)

A few questions:
When I tow, it's less than 4000 lbs. Would I be safe to run the 80hp program, even though I don't have a EGT guage?
Also, the Diablo chip, and others, claim an increase in mpg. Does this unit also increase mpg?
Thanks for the information. This sounds like a great product.

Got my programmer,

I have no idea what this means:

"If your vehicle has not been returned to is STOCK program prior to service, The Superchips MAX Tuner will no longer be able to program your vehicle. Such a failure is not covered by the Superchips warrantee."

huh? Should I return the truck to stock any time I send it in for service or what? Plain English anyone?

Ken

Could the MicroTuner be used on another truck if the first truck was restored to stock? ie the stock program reinstalled and the Superchip program removed.
