The other day the wife and I went to town and stopped at my mom's, the truck was shut off for only 30 minutes or so be fore we had to leave again. Went to start it and it fired and then quit, and when it started again it acted like it was flooded, I mean, it would fire and then run, but only on 4 to 6 cylinders. It is a 302 and it is in a 1990 F-150 4x4 with an automatic. What could be the problem with it. TPS or someting else??
HELP!!
This is the same engine as my B/F 91 F-150 and I have 89 250 351 W and the trucks were both doing that exact thing, now we have been working on this for more than 2 weeks and have spent alot of money on sensors and such and tonight I will see how mine does after all day major tune up ect. if not fixed then it seems to me it has to be the MAP or FDM or catalyic conv. Run your codes and see but try to troubleshoot every possiblity before spending like we did. Do you have dual tanks? O don't forget the fuel pressure regulator also.
good luck
