Need help with polishing

You know that Chrome or Stainless strip that gous across your tailgate?

Does anyone know what to use to clean that thing & polish it good?

I found a replacement for mine but it is filthy. I tried soap & water and all that did was knock all the loose dust off. I don't want to use a scrub pad. Although it may get it clean I don't want to scratch it all to hell.

I use a tire cleaner. The spray on type for aluminum. Teh guard is made of aluminum, but be careful about the plastic trim piece.

You can also do it by hand if its really bad. "NeverDull" works real good for that.
