Banks PowerPack System Now Available
The banks power pack system is now available for the V-10 Super Duty Trucks. It costs $1595 and the salesperson said that they are starting to take orders. It boosts HP by 60 and Torque by 75 ft/lbs. The kit consists of headers, muffler, intake, and other misc. components. They said it would take about 7 hours to install. The number to call about it is 800-438-7693. I'm not a dealer for them, this is just what I've found out from checking into it. 410 ft/lbs is enough for me, but more is always better.

Hi
I am trying to find the best way to up the power in my truck. I expected more out of this motor, I miss the 460 in my 96' truck. "OH-WELL" stuck now!
I pull heavy loads up in high country? I would like to hear more about others experiences before buying anything Let me know..
Thanks, Dave

I called Banks Engineering (800-438-7693) and spoke with George Medows x284. I said I herd that they had a power pack system for the Super Duty V-10 and here is the info he provided:
$2,998.00 Power Pack 11.5 hrs to install, 76HP 147ft/lbs
$1,564.00 Stinger 5.5hrs to install, 57HP 110ft/lbs
$795.00 Get Kit 4hrs to install, 40HP 71ft/lbs
I asked for a printed information and it arrived a couple of weeks later. The brochure only covers the Diesel, and the numbers above are straight from the "1999 Ford 7.3L Power Stroke", and not the V-10!
Do they have a V-10 product other than the stainless STINGER intake/exhaust? I don't know, but hope to see a Roots-style blower unit like the Eaton Supercharger on the Lightning.
If anyone knows of a "Real" blower for the V-10, please drop me a line.
Thanks,
Will
PS: they have a WEB site: www.bankspower.com which quotes different power increases and has the following "info" for the V-10, but no additional details or images
4.6L, 5.4L, 7.5L (460) V-8s and 6.8L V-10 GASOLINE
Banks POWERPACK with stainless TorqueTube exhaust manifolds delivers a giant wake-up call to Ford pickups, Expeditions and Navigators -- up to 68 hp, 85 lb-ft torque and 15% better mileage (460 V-8 pickup). Field & Stream said "In raw numbers, [Banks PowerPack] wrings an additional -- and much appreciated -- 70 horsepower and 90 foot-pounds of torque out of the engine in our F-250. We also saw an improvement in drivability, engine durability, and fuel economy." If up to 36 hp, 50 lb-ft torque and 14% fuel economy sound good, opt for Banks lower-cost, stainless STINGER intake/exhaust.

Banks does have two kits avail. for the V10. The "Stinger" which is basicly a cat-back muffler and a K&N air filter lists for $579. It should boost power by 30 hp and 35 ft pounds of tq. The other kit is the "Power Pack" It includes the Stinger kit plus headers and new head pipe. It lists for $1595. 60 hp and 75 ft pounds of tq sound pretty close.
If you're looking for a blower then Paxton is the way to go.

Dave, I tow a 28' TT that weighs in at about 6500lbs. On a 8% grade, I was able to maintain 55mph in second gear. Most short, minor grades the truck will pull ok in third. I usually wait till the speed has dropped to 45 or so before stompin the gas pedal for second gear. It's great to see those rpms jump and you start gaining speed again. I think that the V10 works just as good or better than the 460. It has to get better gas mileage.
