Yes, I have heard this, apparently FMC is shifting priority to it's Excursion as far as V10's are concerned. They get em first... Can't swear by it, but that is word I have been hearing... Good Luck or switch order to PSD

I can't believe that the truck dealer can get the 3.73 LS with the V10 in CA. Can you verify that? Has the truck dealer received a "Clean" build from the factory for the 2000 model year.

I am just about to order a 2000 F250 SD,CC,SB,V10,Lariat and they told me the only way to get a LS axle is with the 4.30's. And I don't want those. In fact, they couldn't tell me which was the "standard" axle. Will find out tomorrow.

Regarding the engines going to the Excursions, I believe it is just rumors. But, the dealer said the "hot" items which extend the lead time are: V10, Crew Cab, Lariat. I guess these are in high demand.

I received my 2000 F250, crew cab, 4x4, V10 with limited slip and 3.73 gearing in September. The truck comes standard with 3.73 and limited slip is a $300 or so option. I ordered the truck in August through a truck only dealership. It is not only possible, but it is very easy for Ford to do.

I still can't believe that the 3.73 Limited Slip is an option for a 2000 F250SD,CC,V10 in CAlifornia. My dealer tried to enter the order on the Ford order entry system. It was rejected. The books say that it is not available for this truck. It is for the F350 and the other 49 states, just not in CA.

If a dealer is getting these ordered they are probably doing it illegaly. Or ordering for out of state. If you folks that have this config. can check with how the dealer was able to order the 3.73LS (for 250SD,V10 in CA) and get around the order entry system I would love to share it with my dealer.

Ordering from a "Truck" only Ford dealer should not matter since everyone goes thru the same ordering system. I think it has to do with "whom" is ordering the truck.

I too am trying to figure out how to order a 5.4 3.73 l/s f250 cc 4x4 or the v10 f250 3.73 l/s cc 4x4. So far my only option is the v10 l/s w/4.30. I live Livermore, Ca, and have to deal w/some traffic and hills, but most is open freeway driving. Can someone give me an idea on what kind of fuel mileage ill get if i order a v10 w/4.30. Or share more info on how i can get my dealer to order the v10 w/3.73 gears.

From what ive been told, the EPA is the one holding them back from making the 5.4 3.73 l/s. By the way, when i do order my truck, i was able to get it for $500 over invoice. Anyone know any lower prices in northern Ca??
