Looks like you might need a divorced Tcase to use one of those:

Well, GM put a T5 in the S10s, and I think AMC used them in the early 80s, but they are a pretty weak transmission for a four wheel drive truck. The GM would have the wrong spline count to find a left hand drop transfer case for as well.
I would look for a M5R2, and rebuild it. That was the HD trans option in the Thunderbird over the T5.
