I don't know if the explorers work this way but my wife's mitsubishi diamante did the same thing last week. I was a bit suspicious since it happened almost exactly at 30,000 miles. Everything was running perfectly fine. I had changed the oil and flushed the transmission about two months ago. Anyway, I disconnected the battery for 15 minutes then reconnected. The light went out and has not come back on. I think it was just a preset factory prompt wanting me to send it in for routine maintenance. Disconnecting the battery reset the computer.
