ate a push rod

The thing was running like a dream. Then it started to "click" so I turn around and head for home. Before I got home, I got "POPS" out the carb, big time. I pull the valuve cover on the passanger side bank and I have at least one bent push rod most likley two. WTF, I have no idea what caused this. Help, please.

Just a geuss? its sounds like to me you had a lifter collapse?
or the preload wasnt quite right in that hole?

it could be a number of things. are your lifters and rocker arms new? were your rocker arms torqed to specs? what kind of engine do you have and is there any upgrades?
