STUPID ford service (CPS)
I took my 2002 f250 into 2 dealer for a "hesitation and stalling" problem. I explained all the symptons and told them I was almost sure the cam position sensor.
The first dealer found nothing and so did nothing. The second dealer replaced the thottle pedal assembly at over $700 and the problem continued.
The truck continued to "miss and stall" while towing with the family out in the boondocks. I finally went out and replaced the CPS myself with no further problems. I didn't wan to get stuck in the desert.
The service writer told me to make sure that I had the FORD road side number handy. I told him they would rather tow my vehicle from the middle of the desert than replace the hundred dollar part. HIs reply was "I don't know what to tell you".
What good is a vehicle warranty if the stupid dealer can't diagnose and fix the problems.

I would make them pay for the throttle pedal assembly. Although i have never heard of a CPS doing this, but if you replaced it and it does not do it anymore, must be fixed. I NEVER take my vehical to a shop or dealer. I have seen what can go on. I know there are probably only a couple shops that make the rest look bad, but i am not going to take a chance. If i fix it and mess up, i atleast know. gettler purchased a B3000 a couple of months ago. He had a wheel bearing problem. So we took of the wheels and replaced the seal bearing unit on the one side. well, this vehical was "inspected". On the brakes, where you put the bolt in to attach the caliper, one of those inserts which that threads to was stripped. Now lets think, only 2 bolts on that side, lets just throw the bolt in there and make it work. I know if i saw one of my friends doing something like that, words would be a flyin. Brakes are never something to comprimise on.

That is stupid! That's why I don't even bother with new vehicles. For $8500 I got a great rig in good condition. That extra $30,000 for a new truck doesn't even come close to being cost-effective, as far as maintenance and repairs go. Let someone else foot that big ole depreciation bill, I can deal with spending a few clams on occasional repairs.
