Is it true that Ford stopped producing this series until April. If so, why?

 

I guess that's why my dealer can't yet provide a VIN for an order placed on March 6th. What you describe is my exact configuration. Anyone "connected" with Ford able to verify this?

 

I ordered one on 3/1 and was told a week later that they would not do the 133" wheel based trucks until April.....My order was "pulled" yesterday and I will recieve a vin today sometime...I'll let you know after I get a call from my dealer.

 

I wonder if this "stoppage" until April on the 133" is due to LOW sales?

 

Sure wish I was given that information back in early March like your dealer was kind enough to provide you. I'd appreciate any word you get on your truck's build status. It's kind of interesting (refering to assembly line technicalities) why they'd stop building one configuration.

 

I was told that the frames were in short order..Also told they need to "setup" for different frame sizes...I don't really know which is true but it sounds reasonable...I like the look and feel of a short wheel base truck and if they (ford) pull this model off the shelve next year it should make this truck a rare breed in the years to follow...I kind of like that in a way.
I talked to my dealer and the vin should be ready tomorrow....

 

Thanks for the insight, hovy. Hopefully they'll expedite our orders and not to many short-framers are ahead of us. Did your dealer tell you how long it would take to receive after you get a VIN? I was told two weeks. Two weeks??? I held myself together and didn't laugh in his face. If one follows the VIN checks done in this forum, it has been closer to a month after a VIN has been issued.

 

LOL You have to remember they(dealers) are all used car salesmen!!! heh heh heh!

 

I ordered a 133' XLT Supercab on 3/2, I was told my build date was 3/29, I haven't checked in lately as I just assumed it would show up soon. I'm going to be ****ed if my build date got pushed back and no one bothered to tell me.

 

Keep us posted in this thread on your progress, F-man66. Week of March 2nd was my order date too. Hopefully they'll both come off the line one after another SOON!

 

Just got my build date! :O( May 3rd.....I ordered march 1st......the "fun" part of getting a new truck is wearing a bit thin waiting this long.....Any of you other 133" scab buyers got your trucks yet?

 

I ordered my XLT 133'' Scab on 3/2, it arrived at the dealership on 4/12, I pick it up tomorrow! It's been tough wating to pick it up but I had to sell my 95 Sierra first and get my finances in order. It actually arrived faster than I expected. Good luck to everyone else waiting on their trucks, I just saw some pics of the 133'' wheel base the other day and they do indeed look as good as I thought they would. I drove by the dealership yesterday and I was going to drive through the lot and take a look at my truck but I decieded to wait until I pick it up so it will be an even bigger moment. Hovy, sounds like you have had a really long wait, I have been looking at my 2004 F-150 brochure every night, kind of like xmas when you were a kid with the toy adds. Your moment will be worth it, good things come to those who wait...

 

Where did you see these 133" pics? Magazine, this web site, etc.,etc.. ????

This waiting bites worse than my dealer bites.Original I know but........
