got smoked by a dodge

I have a 02 psd with 4 inch straight piped exaust scmt on level three and gauges to monitor it. A 04 cummins pulled up and wanted to race. Right from the get go he blew me away and I got the jump on him. At the next stoplight I asked him what he did to the motor and he said nothing right off the show room floor. Is this true or has he turned a wrench or two under the hood.

The new Cummins will definately beat a 7.3 PSD. They really made a lot of changes and it performs at much higher numbers from the factory at about 1/3 the volume.

With My new 01 Dodge 2500 it is totaly stock, with 4wd, and I smoked the hell out of an 02 F350. I have to say since I gave up my 99 PSD, even though I still see it(I sold it to my friend), I dearly love the Dodge with the Cummins.

The older Cummins engines will not beat a 7.3 in stock form, but the newer Cummins will. Their initial numbers were 305HP/555tq. and they recently upped the torque to 600. The 6.0 PSD will outaccelerate the new Cummins though.

fittzy dog your stock cummins wont touch a 02 7.3. I to have both 01 3500 cummins and 02 f-350 psd. The high out put motor will that came late 03. I think the cummins is a great motor exept for the fact its in a dodge

Your 7.3 with a 4"exhaust and SCMT will dust a 04 Cummins HO into the ground. Your truck stock however will not. I have a 7.3 with 4"turbo back exhuast and the diablo predator. I make my buddy's 04 HO look like a childs toy on the 60hp setting. On the other hand, if I reduce mine back to stock HP its a toss up due to my 4" exhaust, open air intake and wicked wheel. The new dodges are pretty tuff stock, but nothing the 7.3 enthusiast can't compensate for
