I was wondering on my 1975 Ford F100 4x4, I have drum brakes on the front. I am wanting to change the axle and put one on that has disk brakes. Someone told me that from 76 on they put disk on the front. I was wondering till what year will a dana 44 axle work on my truck. I am needing to know because I found a 84 ford 4x4, and am wanting to use that axle. Let me know

I guess it comes down to how much money you want to spend and how much minor fab work you want to do. If you have the cash, an aftermarket 9 inch for the front looks pretty good compared to front Dana 60s.
