hey, i just got the 460 in by bronco running, but as soon as i start it it screams up to 3500 rpsm/s. i took the egr plate off and now there is a whole the size of a out 1 sq inch left open for air to get into. the throttle is not sticking, could this be the cause of the motor rising that high up. havent really started playin with stuff yet, just wundering what you guys think
Why did you take the egr plate off? You shouldn't have any open space below the carb, that would be just like opening the throttle plates. Congrats on getting the 460 in your bronco, how long did it take? Did you have to move yoiur oil filter, what did you use as far as power steering brackets go? All my parts from JBG are taking their sweet time getting here, I should be able to put it in starting april 6th. I think I understand your post better after reading it agian, yes that would cause your problem. I would, and have, buy a spacer plate to replace the egr plate.
well i made a carp plate today, trhat should solve my prob, i'm gonna start it tomorrow and see how it runs. dead battery today i left the ignition on overnight. umm it took me about 25 days of 11 -2am days of work, but that includer stripping the donor truck, lots and ltos of runs to local parts store. doing gaskets on teh new motor and the clutch, umm, it really doesnt seem like that much, and it was alot of fun. the donor rig i had already had an oil filter adapter and that fit great in the bronco. get all your friends togeather for afew weekends and to it. impact toold are a life saver when taking apart a parts truck if thats what you did. L&L motor mounts bolted in great and i'm using f250 manifolds ported slightly to teh gaskets. your also gonna need a throttle cable and alot of other little stuff, but its not too bad. and questions i'm on the site every night and will be more then happy to be able to share my knowlage.
