I am looking to upgrade my 71 f100 to power steering and c6 within the next 2 or 3 weeks. I already have the transmission but will need the driveline (unless I have the one I already have shortened). I will also need the power steering column out of a suitable donor, and eventually I want to upgrade to power disk brakes. Can someone tell me what they think is the current going price for a power steering column, disk brakes and driveline is for a 71ish truck?
There is a junk yard close to where I live. I called them up and they said they would sell me the drive line and power steering column for 75.00 each, if they actually have them (old non computerized place, I will have go walk around and look for the parts myself). Does anyone know if I could purchase the parts for cheaper somewhere else, including shipping?
I was once told there was a website where you can type in a search for the parts you want, and it will give you results back of all junk yards that carry those parts, but I cannot find it using google. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I got my tax return coming up and im itching to do some upgrades on my truck.
Seems like the parts costs are a bit high. This weekend I upgraded my 1970 F250 to power steering. I took the power steering assy from a 1976 F250 4x2 and the total cost was $80.50. I took the pump, bracket, belt, high pressure line, return line, steering column. There are several wreckings yards around here to shop from. If you think the price is high, counter offer.
