Question Tuneup questions

I have a few questions if anyone can answer them.

I have a 1970 Ford f100 390. The carb is a motorcraft and has a manuel choke I installed becuase the last choke broke. I also installed electronic ignition.

First question is, what should my timing be set at. Right now its set at 10 deg with vac advance on.

Second question is, what should my rpm's be at running temp?
Right now its at 1100 - 1200 with choke open at running temp.

Third question is, what should my carb idle mix screws be set at?
Mine is at 1 1/2 turns on both barrels.

It is dieseling at running temp sometimes for only a sec and you can smell some gas.

If anyone has answers I would love to hear back.

This from memory since I don't have the book in front of me. The timing should be set to 6 deg with the vac disconnected. The idle should be 600 RPM with a manual and 750 with an auto. The mixture screws should start at 1 1/2 turns out but once everything is warmed up go back and forth between them and tune for max RPM. You may need to adjust the idle as you do this to keep it at spec.

Also, 6 deg is the book value. I run mine at 10-12 deg.
