You'd probably be better off doing the TECH ARTICLE Whiter Whites, Brighter Brights. Basically re-wires the headlamps to take power from the battery thru a relay. The headlamp switch actually powers the relays. You will get full battery voltage rather than 3-5 volts lower than battery voltage.
It'll cost about $20.-25.00 for 2 relays, and 50ft roll of 12GA wire, and connectors. And the headlamp switch will run cooler as a result of lower amp draw across it's contacts.
If afterwards you absolutely need "get out in front of me and you'll fry like a redhead on the beach" lights go ahead. But I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

You can't go wrong with the PIAA's. I have a '92 F150 and I have been using the PIAA Xtreme White Plus bulbs for for about 14 months. Nothing but satisfied. I have type 9007 (HB5). Wattage used is 65/55 = 120/110. No problems with melting. I also have the the PIAA Ion Crystal fog lamps (model 520) for when the weather gets really nasty. The PIAA's may cost a bit more, but I think their products are worth every penny.
