2004 F-150 Vibration poll

I would just like to see the statistics of how many have the vibration vs those that don't.

From 0-102 (until the governor kicks in) she's as smooth as glass. Except for my little surprise throttle surge the other day, no issues.

On this topic, UPS just delivered my new (used) tires and wheels. I currently have the 18" P275/65R18 BFG's on the Lariat Standard Wheels.

I bought a set of takeoffs on E-Bay from an FX4 - they are the same size, but are the Goodyear LT's. I plan to switch them this weekend (for some heavier hauling) but keep the BFGs for normal use.

It will be interesting to see if they ride any differently.

Ultramax21...My FX4 has not exhibited any vibrations, shudders, steering wheel nibbles, or other common squawks. It was built in KC earlier this month, and maybe, just maybe, indicative that some of these issues have been addressed. I hope so, because I feel for all those who have problems with their new trucks.

Then again, another poster said "if you don't have problems yet, you definitely will"...I suppose he was wearing a hooded cloak and carrying a sickle while typing it...but I hope your poll shows that the vast majority of vehicles are problem-free. Good job getting the poll started! -Don

Thanks Don. I hope to be able to honestly comment on the vibration issue soon, my truck was built 3-11-04 and the dealers computer shows "shipped" as far as order status.

I must admit, it's been very discouraging reading post after post about a new vibration of some type. What has confussed me is they just suddenly appeared. I guess things just come in cycles, but a few months ago all we read about was the "lack of power", I haven't saw one of those posts in a while, now all we read about is vibrations. I wonder what will be next?

And I'm sure you guy's have checked the resutls, but now the NO's have passed the YES's.

Maybe if the guys checking "yes" would get together they could look for something "unique" about their trucks that might be causing the vibrations. Ya know it could just be a bad batch of bushings or something. Then again I suppose this whole vibration issue is somewhat subjective, each person will evaluate their trucks differently.

Unforchanatly for me, now that I'm aware of the vibration I'll most definetly be looking for it, and in the words of my service tech " if you're aware of it, you'll find it even if its not there".

My F-150 FX4 SCAB 4X4 5.4 rides better than any truck than I have ever owned. Had a Tundra TRD before this and a Dodge Ram 4x4 Sport before that

Mine shakes badly at idle, has a terribly jittery ride and also has a driveline rumble from 45-60 mph. This is my 5th Ford truck and never had problems before. Truck has been in the garage since Christmas and am still waiting to hear from Ford. 5.4 screw 4x2 3.73ls.

With 6400 miles on my truck I have not had any vibration issues at any speed. Only major mods are Westin step bars, Rhino liner and Flowmaster duals. Truck built in Norfolk 10-03. I really love the ride and sound (or lack there of) in my F-150. I really feel for the folks who have been experiencing these mysterious vibrations. I personnaly hope Ford resolves this issue quickly so everyone can enjoy their rides.
