Any other 534 owners?

Hello:
I bought the truck as a collector's piece. Use it in parades, car shows and other fun stuff like that. The truck was just taken out of service in June of this year by the fire department I bought it from. The truck still has the hard suction lines, 2 hose reals, axes, and some lengths of canvas hose. It also has an auxillary pump so that you can drive and pump from the onboard tank (750 gallons) at the same time.
Looking forward to having fun with it.

I tried to drive a 68 f-950 bucket truck from New Hampshire to Michigan,it was very slow on the hills(almost got ran over a couple of times. It would have made it except one of the spark plug extension broke open(cracked, and I thought I did engine damage(so we towed it the rest).Got it home and put a new plug in it and its fine.
I truly believe it would have made it saving the expensive tow bill, but we are looking forward to using it this summer, anyhow.

Yeah, a retired 62 C850 fire engine, 534, 5 spd strictly for fun, local shows, occasional picnic.
Current project, driveable but not yet complete, a 534 with 5 & 4 stuffed into a 65 F350. something for fun, definitely not practicle or for daily use.
PLus some iron sitting in the shop, some rebuildable, some scrap iron.
Just think the big gas burners from the period are a bit of history to be preserved.
No photo posting capability yet, but I'm working on that.

I'm pulling a pair of Seamasters (turbo 534s) out of a friend's old Hateras SF to swap in Cummins V-8 diesels..not sure what we'll do with the 534s but tossing is not an option. They run perfect..he's just plain tired of the points ignition, constantly fiddling with the Holley carbs, and the horrendous fuel bill.

We ran fertilizer floaters for years that ran the 534 or 391. That was tough duty, and we had to keep a replacement on hand. We still have a rebuilt one of each size in the shop if anyone needs one. I don't know what they're worth. We are in SW Minnesota.
