4.6 Oil Change, How Much Oil?

Yet another fellow 4.6 / 5.4 owner caught in the twilight zone of oil fill quarts.
You will find that an oil and filter change will take 6 quarts. When looking at the oil dipstick after adding the 6 quarts, the oil will register 1/2 way between add and full. Another 1/2 quart will take it to the full line.
Guess it is your call if you want to add the extra 1/2 quart. My new 03 doesn't use any noticable amount of oil betwen 3k changes so 6 quarts it is.

Hey, finally got an answer. And after only 37 views. I was starting to wonder if anyone here actually changed their own oil. I just bought this truck less than a month ago and want to change all the fluids.
Now to figure out what to do with that leaky heater core. A bypass might be in order since I live in a warm climate.
