Skates, check out the ram type of power steering in www.vintage-ford.com. It's not cheap, but it is bolt on and requires no welding or fabrication. This set-up applies to a stock steering gear box. Good luck. What part of s.f. are you in?
I just checked out your gallery. Nice truck. Some how I took it for granted you had a 53-56. Still the above web site may apply to your year truck. They specialize in older trucks from F-1 to F100 1948-1966.

Yes, and thanks for asking, I have tried to find someone that can
help me to figure out what "power steering" inkludes.
And when Toyota 4x4 85 is brought up, what exectly do I need?
I would like to have a picture or a drawing of the parts I need.
I was planing to contact a scrap yard here in the Aalesund
district, but I need to know what to ask for?
I have also updated my gallery whit pictures of the steering coulom. (Sorry about the bad English)
Helge, if you are looking for info on the Toyota steering box swap, check out this site http://www.f100connection.com/Tech%2...umn%20text.htm They sell the bracket (Weld in) and the rest of the parts needed. They also have some photos on their site.
You can also check out Classic Performance products at http://www.classicperform.com/. They offer a different bracket (bolt-in) and the pitman arm etc. to complete the swap.
I am doing this on my 56F100 but have gotten a local shop to assist with the bracket and they will also do the pitman arm for me.
Thanks Kevin, things are getting brighter, I will try to find these parts in Norway, because ordering from USA/UK will cost a fortune for me, and I have a small budget
As you can see in my gallery, I also have to do some int. work
Do you have some tips about lowering the front in a easy way?
helge, I'd definetly go with the bolt in bracket for the toyota p/s set-up, cause once you weld in anythhing, it's pretty much part of the frame. Ever consider the ram assist for your power steering, like the early mustangs used? That's if you have the original steering box. Good luck. Ben
Others have noted that the bolt-in bracket sold by several parts suppliers forces you to eliminate the rubber bumper between the frame and leaf springs on the driver's side. I am making my own bolt-in bracket, with the bottom side long enough to allow the same bolt to be used to bolt in the bracket and the bumper. I'll try to post some pics, I should have it installed this weekend..
