i have an 03 f150 with a 4.6, here are all the modifications i want to do, is it a good idea to do all these?

chip needs burnt for maf- a must!
if you are gonna do true dual exhaust ESPECIALLY with no mufflers- keep it 2 1/4": with x pipe- even then without mufflers- may still lose tq!

I have an intake, cat-back exhaust and diablo chip, done in that order. The chip gave me the best gains, then the exhaust, and then the intake, and the intake was mostly the upper RPMs, but all together, they work very well.

exhaust, intake then chip...I agree with AG4.0 chip is the biggest performance gain, but they all work very well with each other..

My exhaust and intake got louder and it seemed more powerful..

If you're going to get a MAF with TB, you will definitely need a custom chip. Make sure you get a calibration table for the MAF in order to have the correct A/F ratio.

I would skip on the throttle body, bigger throttle body's have been shown to loss 4-6hp on a dyno, they do add slightly better throttle response, but not worth lossing power and waisting money, that's the first thing I bought was a 70mm throttle body. I would increase the MAF, might want to look for MAF off of a Navagator, they are 80mm are since they are a stock ford piece they will be dead on, unlike some aftermarket ones, like others have said, your chip will have to be burnt for the MAF and they will have to be added at the same time. The big two power adders are the chip and pullies.

also the stock tb elbow- could use the excess aluminum from the casting flaws cleaned out as well as polishing!

Anyone looked at the new intake plenum yet? They show to be used for stangs, but I am sure with a little modification the could work on the truck also. Just wondering if anyone has tried it out or heard of anyone trying it yet. They show to increase the tq and hp.

Chips contain several tables for air and fuel ratios. The MAF sends a voltage reading to the computer based on the air-flow. Switching to an aftermarket MAF or a larger MAF will usually result in an incorrect voltage reading for a given airflow. The end result is the vehicle will run too lean in parts or all of the RPM range.
