Ok I have a coolant leak the picture here is showing the rear of the oil pan, the starter is on the left. front of engine is toward top.
Where is this leak coming from? there is no fluid exterior to the engine above this point. I'm curious though it's going to be at the back of the engine, NO milkshake oil and this leak has been there for a while jsut noticing it more now because I have new radiator/hoses and such. Is there a rear cover on the engine that coolant could leak at..or is this definately a head gasket kind of problem.

Most likely from freeze plug on the back of the block. Be very sure that it's not running down from the back of the head or something first though, because changing this freeze plug requires pulling either the engine or the tranny. I'd suggest the trans, although doing either sucks. Lots of work for a $2 part. All of my freeze plugs rusted out and sprang leaks within a couple of months of each other, this one being the last to do so. Had nearly 200,000 miles at the time and a buddy of mine said same thing about his identical truck at the same mileage. Whenever I get around to a rebuild, I'm going to put in the brass ones.
Well I've checked that free plug, and watched it after i got home..didn't see any fluid, also took my camera and took a picture up there and didnt' see any fluid leakage..tha't swhy i'm asking here, because the only place i see fluid is at this point.
ok, now I understand, I ddi see the freezeplug on the head, but didn't realized that there was a freeze plug covered by the bell housing, makes sense now. thaks
:-)
what size freeze plug do i need for the plug on the back of the block..gonna be doing the job next weekend..think coolant is getting on my clutch and starting to slip
