what should my oil pressure be? 351W
I just got an oil pressure gauge, and wonder what the norlam pressure should be while idleing and freeway speed.
its a 1977 351W out of an LTD, frankenstined into a 1975 F-250 ranger supercab.

you want at least 10 psi for every 1000 rpm.
most manuals say you should have 40 psi at 2000 rpm
mine runs around 25 at idle and 42 at speed
when the engine is cold it will be alot more but slowly drop as it warms

You should be fine. Plenty of pressure.

Sadly, my 188K 351 has 19psi at idle, and 19psi up to about 4000 rpm, and between 4000 and 5000 it goes up to 21psi.
