I have a '03 F-350 cc 6.0L I've been goin nutz lately trying to decide between a 6"or a 8"lift bds lift my problem is if i run the 6 i can't find a tire that will look good on it wanna run a 37"bogger but they are only 13" wide i want a fatter tire so that y i am leaning towards a 8"lift with the 38-15 bogger my problem is a hav a 86 chevy with 14" of lift 40"boggers on it i don't want my new ride to turn onto that because i will be using it as a daily driver any help would be great,,,,,
If you go with the 6" BDS and 37/13 boggers or the 8" BDS and 38.5/15 Boggers....you most likely will have a good amount of rubbing if you off road with the truck at all. If it's just street and minimal suspension flexing you might be okay.....
Actually from the measurements I've gotten of 8" lifts Fabtech is the lowest and Skyjacker and BDS are next and are a little bit taller than the Fabtech. Others are taller
While we're on the subject of lifts...
I am leaning towards an Edge 6" lift. Apparently 6" is the most you can lift the SD without requiring extensive Driveshaft mods. With 6", I think I just need to shim the shaft to adjust the angle. I like the Edge & Fabtech 8"lifts, but both require front drive-shaft modifications. Has anyone gone through this yet? Who can I contact? How much does it cost? Can I purchase a longer driveshaft, and keep my stock shaft in the event I choose to remove the lift later (for inspections/sale)?
I just did the 6 inch Superlift. It came up 8 inches in the front but has settled to a solid 7inches...I had to purchase an extra set of lift springs for the rear so the truck will still sit 2 inches higer in the back - that way it will squat level with a trailer..
We filmed the lift work and are editing it into a DVD. That will be one of three DVD's available.

Generally, a 6" shouldn't need any shaft modification.
Usually anything more will require your front shaft to be lengthend, runs in the ball park of $100 or so. (not really extensive)
You could have a new shaft made, so you could keep your original, but wait till after the lift is installed to measure it out.
i heard great reviews about superlift. theres even a comparison on this site. i'm going with a full spring lift next month. i've emailed almost every person on this site and others and only received 1 bad response and 1 clueless (it was his first lift)
