This post may not belong here but I thought it might be of interest to know the 6.0 is not the only engine getting a bad "flash". After having a 6.0 with minar problems before the flash & major problems after the flash, I gave up on it & traded for an '04 F-150. Had some minar problems with this truck, took it in for service, got it back, & you guessed it, they flashed it! Within 100 miles I had a check engine light & a "wrench" light, the truck ran very rough & most of the electronics were going crazy. Took it back to the dealer, they had it for two days called & told me Ford should have a fix in about a month & it's ok to drive for now. Went to pick truck & asked service manager to go for a ride, which he did. He said "you're not driving this truck one day, let alone one month". Looks like like I'll be driving a loaner for while. At this point, I have no idea what Ford has planned for my truck, but I am quite surprised that Ford wanted me to drive a truck that was running in "limp mode" until they could find a fix.

And has been mentioned, keep very good records, paying particular attention to making notes in regards comments made by techs/service writers, dates, times, and names. This may sound silly, but, you just may find, down the road, this information, having been written at the time, will be invaluable.
