Thats what you bought, its the early version of the Edge called Trailhead.

 

Ok thanks for bringing me up to speed on what I have. I traded off a XLT for the Trailhead and I can tell already it's alot more truck than what I had, plus I don't see myself every time I go out, It's got a different look to it. I think it's a keeper.

 

I think they only made them for a year or two.

 

My 2000 XLT 4x2 (bought new) has the other features of a Sport, but does not have a Sport decal. I don't know about other Ranger types, but mine has a great sound system. My buddies all have big, feature-rich F-150s and their sound systems don't sound as good as mine. I also have a sliding rear window.

 

I have the window sticker off my '99 Ranger Sport and it reads: XLT Sport appearance group - tachometer - fog lamps - 495.00 . Nothing else listed under "Sport".

I'll have to see what my 2000s sticker says, the information I posted was from the 1999 & 2000 Ford brochure.

 

I know this is a very old thread but I just stumbled across it and found it very interesting since I have a 1996 XLT with Sport decals on it. I've never seen another one of this model year and wonder what the difference is between it and a std XLT. In terms of options this thing is bare bones, no power windows or door locks, no towing package, no ABS. All I can tell is it comes with the decal. Does anyone have any info on the 1996 version of the Sport? I see several posts on 1999/2000 versions but nothing older.

I bought this used from my dad who bought when it was a year old in 1997. Only 112k mi on it now. Great truck. Thanks for any info.
