Stop Bagging the PSD. Do your homework. Duramin has aluminum heads on cast iron block. Remember the Vega? Now put that combo with 17:1 comp ratio. I don't care if it has ceramic head gaskets. Stand clear, It's gonna blow! Read the Sep/Oct issue of Truck trend. Freezer split journals? Sounds like a hairline fracture ready to spread to me. Why pay more? Duramin is maxed out. Buy the PSD and get the Banks system or Hypertech for the extra $. Mine comes in 3 weeks.
anyone who thinks that any detroit diesel has ever been better than an international is sucking too many exhaust fumes. there are alot of old "pigs" out there with half a million miles on them.while the detroit diesels have a prob. with staying bolted together, in other words they blow-up. the isuzu move was a smart one for chevy, though i still would predict the new "pig" will outlast it psd's have proven that they are durable and stout and if it doesnt have enough power just add a chip and an high flow inlet system and then you have 270hp and 764lb. of torque. by the way international was purchased by ford about the same time it purchased volvo, the new international is now the new heavy truck line that i cant think of the name of right now.
