belt tensioner question
Started a tune up on my 92 f350 Crewcab/460 c.i. So far have replaced the air filter and pvc filter, also the serpentine(spelling?) belt that runs the power steering and a.c. pump. I noticed that the tensioner pulley was somewhat grooved and tended to rattle a little when I spun it, although the bearing felt fine. Should I replace it, and if so, how difficult is it to do? Can it be done w/out removing the entire assembly from the block? Didn't get any farther because it's still cold up here and my fingers had had enough.

Mine on my 351W sounded the same way so I went ahead and changed it. I feel any time you can hear the bearing can't be good.
As for swapping the old part out for the new. It was a piece of cake on my 351W. I have never changed one on a 460 before.
