429 Thunderjet Efi Conversion

460 for 429
The 460 should bolt in ok, but you would need to bring along the computer & all related wiring, as well as make provision for the high pressure fuel system needed for the EFI (pump[s], regulators, etc.). Not impossible, but definitely a challenge.
As with many other such swaps you would do well to get a complete donor vehicle from which to get all the parts you need. Doing so gives you all the wiring & fittings that you can usually modify as needed to fit your unique application.
I wish you well in your endeavor! I don't know about you, but when someone tells me "that can't be done" it makes me want to do it all the more - in part just to show them that indeed it CAN be done. Many of the threads in these forums are dedicated to that very proposition. Viva la innovators!

if you want to swap the entire efi 460 into your vehicle you will just need to make sure you have hood clearance. it should bolt right in.
if you want to put the efi on your 429- its not so easy. the heads will need to be changed to late model- which could present a compression ratio problem??? the cam you have will need to be changed to a computer friendly grind. of course you will need to run the late model intake manifold. then your computer will be trying to supply fuel to 460 cubic inches, so you will most likely need a custom burnt chip to make it work with your 429.
so if you have a nicely built up 429, you might want to consider aftermarket injection to take advantage of your previous power mods.
