91 F-150 won't start

Just bought a used truck with 198000 miles on the engine. I was told when it was parked about 4 months ago it was running ok.The firing system seems to be fine but it doesn't seem to be getting fuel. Ichecked the pressure on the rail and it has about 40psi. The engine will crank and run on starting fluid but dies as soon as it is burnt out.I also tried swapping the computer with my 92 but that didn't help either. Any ideas????? Thanks

Do you have 40psi when the truck is cranking?

If not, then its likely to be the fuel filter, the fuel pump(s), stuff like that.

If you still have 40psi when the truck is cranking but not starting your injectors aren't opening, which means either the injectors are frozen shut, or the wiring is not connected, worn, frayed, or the ECM isn't working correctly.

Make sure the fuse for the EEC isn't blown.

Could be a bunch of sensors too... the crank position or the dizzy sensor so the engine knows when it hits top dead center.

CK the injectors and their wiring. If you have a manual it might state what the voltage/resistance at the injestors should be, if u have any at all. The injectors could be clogged too, but prob not likely. Ck the fuses in the box under the hood. Good Luck.

Ther is power on the injectors (using a 12v test light) if that means anything. All wiring seems intact and in good shape. Is there a special fuse for the EEC?? Didn't see one in the fuse panel, where would it be located? Used a code reader and only come up with sensors like tps, coolant and such.Should it have read the crank position too. Thanks
