Kit or Custom ....
I have a little bit of a delimina, conflicting information.
I have a 03 F150 with a 5.4 I bought new. It's 2 months old.
I really really really like my truck.
I want it louder. That deep tough sound.
My local exhaust shop who has been there a long time
and has a good reputation says, a custom set up with true
dual exhaust (since there are seperate cats on each side)
He claims this would gain HP and torque. This system would
not be mandrel bent pipes, however it would have 2 mufflers
and would be true dual.
Borla, Magnaflow, and Flowmaster corporate sales office sales people universally say. "doing it true dual will cause too much of a loss of back pressure, thereby you could lose low end torque"
some also say it is likely that the check engine light will likely
come on and stay on, and one claims that the truck will not
pass the emission test any longer, and it would void my warranty.
What do ya'll think ?
Who has experience with an in the box
flowmaster catback system?
Who has put a true dual on a 98 or newer F150 ?
Your opinions are appreciated !
Rich
