If it's the same as my '01 sport trac 4.0 SOHC, it is on the back of driver's side valve cover, between the valve cover and the firewall. If you stand on the driver's side and look on the back of the valve cover, you should see a 3/4" hose(which is the breather hose coming from the PCV) coming from the valve cover heading towards the firewall for about an inch, then it turns 90 degrees towards the passenger side. There are also 2 coolant houses that are connected to a metal tube that runs around the pcv valve. I have never seen a pcv like this one, and neither had the parts guy at the ford dealer. You have to turn the pcv valve counter clockwise half a turn to remove it. A new pcv costs about $15, and comes with the metal coolant tube already wrapped around it.
