Welcome to FTE and the OK chapter thereof! Plan on coming to a get-together at my place in Skiatook in Sept. The date isn't set yet, but I'm taking suggestions. It is a family-friendly atmosphere.

As for 78's, I don't know much about them as I play with the 80 - 86 series. But, I do have some experience with 351W's.

Hiya and welcome Robert! Didn't I meet you last week? I'm the one with the red 78 F150, across the street from David. Check out the 73-79 forum when you get a chance. They have tons and tons of useful info and people over there for our old pickups.

New here

Hello all my name is Bryce Burden. I live in Shattuck, OK but fixin to be movin to Ft. Towson, OK soon as I get out of the hospital from my car accident back on July 3rd. I currently own two Ford trucks, a 1965 F100 and a 1962 C600 dump truck that is my pride and joy. I'm also looking into buying a 1986 F250 diesel when i get out cause my left leg has lost a lot of muscle and strength and i dont think i can push the clutch in my (hate to admit this) Chevy. Anyways i look forward to getting to know more Ford truck enthusiasts from the great state of Oklahoma.

Welcome Bryce, however I must comment on your love affair with Chevrolet. Don't be ashamed. In fact I am a Chevy lover as well. THe longer I live the less I care about the make, or being brand loyal. Life is about loving what you love. I'm an automotive enthusiast. I do not consider myself a brand loyalist, nor to I exclude any brands until that brand has given me a good political/economic reason to boycott them.

Glad to see you on the forum. If you are feeling well enough in september we are having a get together in Skiatook. September 7th.

Lupe - Welcome to FTE. This thread, and for that matter this Oklahoma forum, isn't the best place to ask questions about your truck. While I'm sure we have Okies that know those trucks, the best place is in the Super Duty And Heavy Duty forum as there are a lot of gurus there to help you.

Hello Clay! Tell us more about yourself. And, to make it easier to remember what you have, how about going to your User Control Panel and placing the info in your signature? While you are in there include your location in that field. (Some of us old codgers can't remember boo so need all the help we can get.)

Have you considered coming to the get-together on Sept 7th?

My location shows up in the right hand corner of my post. Tuttle OK. I understand the old codger part as I am feeling the years behind me as well these days...lol I dont consider myself old but my body tells me otherwise some days.
I have a 2003 F-350 dually (I need to find a pic) and a recently acquired 2001 EX that I got for the wife to drive. I run used fry oil for fuel in the 2003 and am in the process of converting the EX to be able to run WVO (waste vegi oil) in it as well. I estimate I have put a little over 10,000 gal of high cholesterol fuel through the "fat bottom girl" since I started in 2005 at an estimated savings of $35,000 in fuel (I paid $30k for the truck).

I have a friend that did WVO in a VW Golf. The problem for most people is finding a reliable source for cheap or free. He knew the local McDonalds manager and got all his oil from them throughout college. A lot of places figured out they can start charging for their wvo. So it's not as great an idea as it once was.

Do you have a cheap reliable source of wvo?

Yes, I have 5 sources. Around here the oil rendering companies do offer the restaurant money for the oil. Its laughable though because what they are paying comes out to maybe $200 a year. I offer my patronage to the restaurant. I always make myself seen eating and tipping well at a place before I approach the manager for his used grease. He will recognize me by then and even have talked with me because I initiated chat on earlier visits. When I ask for the oil, they always are glad to give it to a loyal customer rather than the rendering company. This works in referse as well. One of the places I was getting oil, I used to frequent but because of a few reasons, my stops at that place went way down and they ended up hiring a rendering company so I picked up my barrel and found another place to use it.
