04 Eddie Bauer mirror trouble

Our 2004 Eddie Bauer model has mirror issues. Each time you put the truck in reverse the mirrors turn down, once in drive or park they are supposed to return to the preset position. The driverside mirror will not return to the preset condition. I can reach out and maunally move the mirror by hand but have to do this each time I back-up.

I'm sure something needs to be replaced but what? Has anyone had this problem? The passenger side still works correctly.

Interesting, I thought the tilt in reverse feature was gone by 2004, Ford stopped offering it. That system was problematic and most here who had the issue just disabled the feature rather than fix it (myself included on my '03).

My best guess is there is an issue with the position sensor in the mirror assembly.

I love to disable the revere tilt feature, that would solve my problem. Can you tell me how? I'll check the price of a position sensor.

It is in the message center, you need to page through the menus to find it.

Did you happen to try reprogramming the memory buttons after setting the mirror back where you want it?

Thanks. I found it and disabled it. I did try to reprogram the mirrors and it would still mess up each time we used reverse.
