i replaced the thermostat (and housing which cracked) , but it continues to overheat. I can plow with the truck with no problems, but if I go down the road for any distance (say 10 miles) it begins to get hot and coolant backs up out of the reservoir.
check the radiator cap i've seen some that don't hold enough pressure and make a big mess. other than that could be bad water pump, clogged ratiator(check for mud and crap in fins), bad fan clutch or possibly but hopefully not a blown head gasket. i've fixed many a overheating ford just by replacing the cap it's cheap so you should try that first. good luck
