6.0l F250

>>>From NTB forum...The truck was built 9/26/03. Perhaps someone here can tell you for sure if this is a "good" build date; I believe anything built after April of '03 is OK, but the folks over at the diesel forums could tell you for sure>>>

New here and to SD Trucks but have a couple of other Ford vehicles. Considering buying a F250 w/6.0L and had asked about build dates in the "New Truck Buyer Forum". After reading some of the previous posts, I just wanted to make sure that it did not have the 03 Engine. Should you have any suggestions, they would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ross

If you want one, buy it.

Most of these trucks have had no problems.

If it's used, have the dealer show you it's repair record on computer from Ford. (Just so they aren't recycling one of the lemon trucks.)

And as part of the sales agreement, add a clause that should the truck have to be brought in for warranty issues, they (the dealership) cover the cost of the tow-in, as well as make available for your us a truck of comparable standing (for free). If they are "so sure" that you are getting a quality used trucks w/no lemon traits, then "they should readily agree with your added requirements. It is simple == this truck does not have a glowing history.

Luke: I always wondered why they put the big tow hooks on the FRONT of the truck!

I have an 03 6.0 that I got in June 03. Now has 20,350 miles.
Runs great. Only a couple of minor problems that may be due to extreme cold temps.

Bought a 2004 F250 w/6.0L. I decided if I wait until everything is perfect then I would never have one. I need to get busy enjoying the vehicle not worrying about the possibilities but I do appreciate the replies.
