Real economic news
Turn off CNN, throw away Time magazine, and stop reading Washington Post. Instead, point your favorite browser to alternative media. If the recession is over, why do the layoffs continue?

Historically speaking.............
The unemployment rate - Which stood at 5.9 percent in November- is lower than the average for the past thirty years. That is right at the threshold that most economists, as recently as the mid-1990s believed, was the lowest it could go without triggering inflation.

The average unemployment rate in the 80s was about 7.5%.
In the 90s, said rate was 5.8%--remember the alleged prosperity?
Now, said rate is about 5.6%.
Lots of jobs to be had....classified ad reps for newspapers are still very employed, but if one wallows in the pity of that very highly skilled (sarcasm inserted if you did not notice) job standing at an assembly line that is lost and doesn't seek training in another field, that fault lies with the worker his/herself.
