keyless entry--Which wires do I need?
I don't really want to have to take apart the door to find which wire works the lock and which for the unlock.
All I've found so far as info online is that the pink wire with yellow is the lock and pink with green is unlock.
Great! Until I discover my pickup doesn't *have* a pink with yellow wire. There's a pink with blue wire. There's a peachish-tan with yellow...
Anyone have a guess? '97 HD
Thanks in advance.

wire colors are right in ya first post, pink green unlock-pink yellow lock,
use test light to verify
what i do,
connect test light to ground-bulb type not led-
touch to wire if locks work it is ground type if not
test light to power and then touch wire, if works positive trigger
most are reverse polarity must cut wires and use relays
will help with relays if needed 2 required.
wires will be headed into door= pass side

I just put keyless entry in my 94 F-150. It is older and most likely different than a 97. I did not want to get into splicing a bunch of wires. Crutchfield sells keyless entry and they also sell pre made wire harnesses for different applications. On mine I unplugged a harness under the steering column and plugged the supplied harness inbetween. I unplugged a wire harness under the passenger side kick panel and plugged a supplied harness inbetween. Wires with the proper plugs ran from each of these harnesses to the keyless entry unit. The only other wiring needed was a 12 volt always on and a ground. Both are available on the back of the power point (Cigar lighter) socket. Crutchfield supplied clear instructions with pictures. The wire harnesses are sold seperate from the keyless unit.
Hope this helps.

wire's for keyless entry
regardless whatr the book says mine says it too, use green/w pink lock, and black/w/white or navy blue w/ white for unlock
located passenger kick plate and make sure to get bundle going into door harness bundle plenty to pull out to splice on to or cut and wire into.
should solve your problem.
