Both my trucks, CC, LB, 4x4, with 4.30 gears and stock tires are getting 8.5 MPG in the city, 12 - 13 MPG on the highway, and 6.5 MPG towing my 9900# 32' travel trailer (large frontal area). All highway speeds are 65-75 MPH, probably would get a little better mileage staying closer to 55 MPH.
With this mileage performance, you wouldn't be suprised that I am employed in the pertroleum industry. Job security, the more gas I buy, the longer I'll be working
I have 33,000 miles on my 2002 and 3,500 miles on the 2004. I am getting a little worse mileage than my previous 1997 460V8 F-350 CC, LB, 4x4 with 3.55 gears, but have more power and better gearing.

2000 F-250 SD CC 4X4. I get about 10 around town and 14-15 on the highway. Just put 285's on. Things I have noticed:
1. Fuel economy has sucked on the Northeast this winter as it has been cold. V-10 mileage is sensitive to cold and this has been covered elsewhere.
2. Very sensitive to speed too. If you drive 65, then you may get 15 on the highway, I have. 75 will yield you 13-14. Over 80 and you better call a KC-135 at about 250 miles for the shortbed guys.
3. Tires. Smaller tires = better mileage. Less unsprung weight.
Hope this helps.

I removed the stupid narrow snorkle on the front of the air box and magically, my trip meter shows a .5 mile improvement in economy. I was going to do the zoodad mod. but, did'nt.
The rest of the truck is stock except for 285 tires. and a flow master 40 muffler. I get about 240 miles to 29 gallon tank. That's mixed city and hiway driving but, completely unloaded. We'll see how she does this summer pulling the boat over some mountains.

Truck: 2001 F-250 Crew Cab 4x4 long bed, V-10 with auto tranny, 4.30 limited slip gears & 265/75R16 tires... It has every drag producing & MPG robbing option I could get!
Mods: K&N FIPK, cab high topper
Driving style: Medium to semi-agressive... I occasionally get on it to accelerate into traffic and to pass!
City - 9-10 MPG
Highway - 13-14 MPG (70-80 MPH)
Daily Driver (combo) - 11-12 MPG
Towing 28' Travel Trailer - 7-10 MPG depending on speed, wind, & hills... OBTW, This is at a combined weight of 14,500 lbs... 7,000 lbs for the truck and 7,500 lbs for the trailer.
