I could be wrong about this, but AFAIK, the 5.0 H.O.
was only offered in the Mustangs and Lincoln MKVII LSC during those years. The 5.0 HO has the same firing order as a 351, tube headers and roller cam.

I have an HO in my '87, but it came out of an 89 Lincoln. Had all kinds of trouble with emission testing because the shop was too stupid to call and ask if it was original engine in the truck (had 210,000 miles on it then). They spent 2 days farting around with stuff, wondering why it wouldn't run right (different firing order) when I volunteered that it wasn't the stock engine. "Ooohh, that's the problem", then it passed about an hour later.

I think the 5.0 HO has a forged bottom end to the engine

The 302's in the trucks were never labeled "High Output" to my knowledge - don't know about the '96's though. The firing order alone does not make it a HO. Really and truly there wasn't that much difference between the HO and non HO motors. I don't think Ford ever offered a choice between the two either.
