460 Rear Main Seal & Oil Pan

460 Rear Main Seal & Oil Pan
Got a '92 Supercab F250 with a 460, 5sp, Banks. Had the motor rebuilt about 7K ago and it has been going thru a quart of oil every 5-600 miles for the past 4000 miles. Very little consumption prior to this.
I never see any smoking from the exhaust and there is no evidence of oil burning on the plugs. There is oil residue on the oil pan and on exterior of the flywheel cover. However, the thing has never once left a single drop of oil on my driveway. The oil on the flywheel cover appears to be running down from the valley in the back of the pan. I can't tell really well if it's coming out of the rear main seal. Had the starter out last week and it looked pretty clean in there from what I could see. There's a little seepage at the dipstick tube and at the oil pan flange about two inches forward from the back on the passenger side. All the pan bolts are tight to proper torque. The one piece Fel-Pro gasket was used at assembly.
I know that it's normal for a rebuilt engine to use a little oil for up to 10K miles while the rings seat, but I really think five quarts between changes is excessive. I'm thinking around a quart between changes should be more normal. There's not really a significant amount of oil residue under the truck either.
Here are my questions:
-Does the 460 have a one or two piece rear main?
-Do you have to lift up the motor to change the pan gasket, or can you fish it through with it in place?
-How long can I expect to spend changing both? I know the tranny has to come out for the rear main...don't want to do that unless absolutely necessary...
Thanks for the help.
