anybody have any warrenty work done on their truck with a chip installed? did they cover it or blame it on the chip and tell you sorry about your luck?
WHAT CHIP??????? I don't know what your talking about.
10 minutes to take it out, my dealer will never know.
I wouldn't take it to him with the chip in, IMO your just asking for trouble.
I had a Dodge Ram 1500... it had a squeek, the fuel tank rubbed the chassis. Same errr.. non-service department that currently has the Durango. They fixed it once and explained the problem, they fixed it again when it came back, then again... but the 4th time they told me it was my step bars, bed side steps, bed cover, bed rails etc...
I stripped her clean, went back and showed them the squeek, and apologized for not being able to scrape the sprayed in bed liner out, but if they insisted it was the cause I'd have it sandblasted provided they paid the bill and paid to respray the bed if it didn't fix the squeek. They fixed it. I guess they figured I wasn't going to wait for 36k so they could stick someone else with the bill.
While I havent been able to get the chip to work right in my SD yet, ( although Ken assured I would be A1 by tuesday when I get my knew 5th wheel camper), I have talked with my dealer and he advised me that the dealership would honor any repairs, under warranty, chip or no chip. My salesman, who owns a SD V10, was one of the guys that told me about chips and all their advantages, and he's the CEO/ part owner of the dealership!!
That being said, I cant speak for other dealers, but I have bougt 4 new FORDs from this dealer in 14 years so they like to keep me happy.
LOOOONNNNNGGG Story short... If you have a good relationship with your dealer, I dont see a problem...OR you could just pop out the chip
out..........
