H/X Mod. Which is best

I am going to try it!!!!!! It does make sense and can't hurt anything......
I know! I have read about the failure rates out there, but let's face it, you could install a brand new set of tires, hit a nail and destroy one at highway speeds. Does that mean that tires are susceptable to failure?
Also, I have been looking at the various types of materials that have been used to make these "kits", and I have seen a few that have the pressure rating, but NOT the temperature ratings. This leads me to the original question in the post. Who makes the best quality hose. I would almost like to match the factory HP hoses that are braided stainless outside. I believe they are aeroquip. I am not sure though. Does anybody use the oem HP hose for this mod?

Tymar Makes up the Best kit IMHO. Its rated for the pressure and the heat. I have never heard of one of the Tymars failing. I noticed a Big difference In my truck. SOme say they dont notice anything? I believe Tymar has the best Price too But not Positive about that.

TYMAR. Step by step instructions. So easy to install I could let the wife do it. OK, no I wouldn't. Non braided brands, I read had blistering problems with air between the line and the covering. Wasn't a big deal,I read, but not on my truck. Did notice the cackle was not there anymore and the motor is alot quieter.

Another vote for TYMAR. I've had mine for a year and a half, and it made a difference for me. It's quieted the injectors down considerably, and no leaks. At around $40, I don't see how you can go wrong.

Bought mine at Diesel Manor. Great quality, no problems on install.
ITP has them too. Check out ITP's ite on the HPX. Dennis has actually hooked up a PC and graphed data of the 7.3 before and after installation of the crossover hose.

I shot Dale an e-mail yesterday after posting here. Thought his websight would be up by now, but it did give me his e-mail address. Does anyone know if he assembles them himself, or does he have them made for him. I just want to know what type of hose he uses. I have seen hoses in temp rang maxed out at 250 degrees up to as high as 302 degrees. What oil temp is max for the PSD? I also am curious to know the highest operating pressure the oil rail will see.

Let me.....us know what results you get on your newer PSD. I know the results have been favorable on some pre s/d psd's, but I am curious about the results on psd's close to the same year as mine.

It would be better to call Dale, He dont have enough time to go through Hundreds of Emails everyday and gets behind. He has the hoses made and I think they are around 400 and some degrees.

The Tymar is rated for 4000lbs at 400 degrees. Just put mine on last weekend, didn't quiet it down but sure did smooth it out nicely.

Are you sure the burst pressure on the Tymar crossover is 4000 lbs.?

Most of these crossovers have a burst pressure of 16000-20000 lbs.

Heatstroked

I re-read the de-structions that came with the Tymar and it said 4000lb so now I'm wondering if 99+ PSD's have a beefier HPOP system and thats why the HX hose article that you linked to has a higher burst rating, one hose for all year models = less inventory to deal with. Not trying to start an argument or vendor war just trying to learn, my brother has a 99 F-350 so I need to learn the quirks of his truck also as I'm sure I'll be helping him out on it.

If I install an HPX on my 2002 and take it in for service, will Ford give me any hassles over warranty work?

Herbert,

Good question, not sure.
Probably be OK as long as you don't take it in for a HPX oil leak.
