Well, I know that the speed sensor is correct. I've paced my buddy's car before and the speedo is correct with the 31" tires I have.
I know what a neutral safety switch does and my truck does not start unless it's in P or N. I didn't know it was a dual purpose sensor.
I'd be interested in changing to the updated sensor but I don't think the trans is throwing any codes. Is it checked through the normal means of the connector under the hood by the brake master?
I did find a MPLS/TR Sensor Service Kit. PN F5TZ-7A247-A. Seems to be a retrofit kit like you speak of BOJOFASO. My local Ford dealer quoted me $97.24 based on that part number.
that sounds about right for the MLPS and the new wireing harness. you would still pull the codes as you normally would. i believe you are looking for a stored code 67 but am not 100% sure.
